Most of my work at Mica has turned out a little rough so far. Between all of the different classes I only have a couple of pieces that I feel are completely rendered, or show off something that is new and exciting. I'm turning a corner though I can feel it, where I am thinking more about my work and what i am trying to achieve rather than just achieving what the teacher has assigned and completing the work according to their standards.
SO, here are some pieces that I am genuinely proud of. This piece is 77" inches wide. The assignment was a self portrait nude, and a self portrait transgendered. I had a lot of fun with this, suggesting a relationship between my male and female counterparts, because i would probably hang out naked with myself all the time. haha
Here's a view of me working on it.
here's another of the finished with, just so you can see how big it is.
On the flip side here is a piece from my illustration class.
the assignment was to incorporate letters with images. I knew i wanted to do animals, but animals cannot really make an A or a B unless they are warped or........
Roadkill.
last but not least, here's a happy drunk old man. I love old people. the end.

More old art, yet scratchy as well...
I LOVE SCRATCH BOARD! unfortunately i have not been able to work with it since coming to MICA. but i did bring some, so give me some time.
Here are some scratch board pieces that turned out well.
The first to the left is David Bowie encountering Godzilla (who would overcome the other in a battle? hmmmm...)
The second image is a stream of consciousness piece, as you can see, a duck flying out of a mouth, adorably nicknamed "Fowl Mouth"
The third image isn't scratchboard, but it is micron pen. ehh? ehh? the same look at least. Anyway, it's the legend of the headless cowboy.

Old Art
I'm just gonna start out by posting some old art that's actually worth posting. the first image is a quick piece of James Dean from the Torn Sweater Series done in ink.
charcoal of an ex boy friend.
a self portrait and experiment with color done in acrylic.
The fourth is a crumpled piece of paper done in charcoal.
Sorry all of these uploaded lost a lot of their saturation, i'll try and figure out how to make that not happen.
The beginning
In my senior year of highschool I took a class on blogging, and we created a blog on Seattle from the perspective of a highschool student. We had about 4 posts and also read a not so great book called naked conversations about blogging ( i know right?).
Anywho, that's my history with blogging.
Fast forward to the present: now I am starting out as an art student at MICA in Baltimore, Maryland. I am very far away from home, and I am making art everyday, so I am going to post some art, probably also post some rando thoughts, and that's the end of it.
